By accessing and using PiMail, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
2. Description of Service
PiMail is a decentralized email service built on the Pi Network blockchain ecosystem. Our service includes:
- Email Functionality: Send, receive, reply, forward, and manage emails through a web-based interface
- Decentralized Infrastructure: Email data stored and processed on distributed Pi Network nodes
- Pi Token Integration: Earn Pi tokens for email engagement and use Pi tokens for payments
- Privacy Features: End-to-end encryption, no email scanning, user-controlled data
- Advanced Features: Email scheduling, snoozing, labels, filters, saved searches, signatures
- Merchant API: Complete API suite for businesses to automate customer communications
- Multi-Language Support: Available in 20+ languages for global Pi Network community
3. User Accounts and Pi Network Requirements
To use PiMail, you must:
- Have a valid and active Pi Network account
- Be at least 13 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
- Authenticate through Pi Network's authentication system (Pi SDK)
- Have access to Pi Browser for using the web application
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
- Comply with Pi Network's terms and policies
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
- Send spam, phishing, malware, or malicious emails
- Impersonate others, provide false information, or create fake accounts
- Interfere with, disrupt, or damage the service or Pi Network infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
- Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the service without permission
- Manipulate or abuse Pi token rewards or payment systems
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Collect or harvest user data without consent
- Use the service to transmit harmful code, viruses, or malware
- Engage in any activity that could harm Pi Network's reputation or ecosystem
Consequences: Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination, loss of Pi token rewards, and legal action if necessary.
5. Email Content and User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all content you send, receive, or store through PiMail:
- You must ensure your email content complies with all applicable laws and regulations
- You must not send content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- You must not send content that is defamatory, harassing, or harmful to others
- You are responsible for backing up important emails
- We do not monitor or control email content, but we reserve the right to remove or block content that violates these terms
- We may report illegal content to law enforcement authorities
Content Moderation: While we do not actively monitor emails, we may review content if reported or if we suspect violations of these terms.
6. Pi Token Rewards and Payments
PiMail offers Pi token rewards and accepts Pi token payments:
- Rewards: You may earn Pi tokens for email engagement (reading, sending, replying) based on our rewards program
- Rewards Terms: Rewards are subject to change, may have limits, and are not guaranteed
- Payments: Premium features and merchant services may require Pi token payments
- Payment Processing: Payments are processed through Pi Network's payment system and recorded on the Pi Blockchain
- No Refunds: Pi token payments are generally non-refundable unless required by law
- Tax Responsibility: You are responsible for any taxes on rewards or payments
Disclaimer: Pi tokens are cryptocurrency and subject to market volatility. Rewards and payments are subject to Pi Network's terms and blockchain availability.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of PiMail is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using PiMail, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability and Decentralized Infrastructure
PiMail operates on decentralized Pi Network infrastructure:
- No Guarantees: We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime
- Node Dependencies: Service availability depends on Pi Network nodes, which may experience downtime
- Maintenance: The service may be unavailable during scheduled maintenance or updates
- Technical Issues: Service may be interrupted due to technical issues, network problems, or blockchain congestion
- Force Majeure: Service may be unavailable due to events beyond our control (natural disasters, cyber attacks, etc.)
- No Compensation: We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss due to infrastructure issues
Backup Responsibility: You are responsible for backing up important emails. We recommend regular backups.
9. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- PiMail is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the service
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for loss of profits, revenues, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- We are not liable for issues arising from Pi Network infrastructure, blockchain, or third-party services
- We are not liable for Pi token value fluctuations or loss of tokens
- We are not liable for unauthorized access to your account or data breaches
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Cryptocurrency Risks: Pi tokens are cryptocurrency and subject to market volatility. You assume all risks associated with Pi token transactions.
10. Account Termination and Data Deletion
Either party may terminate your account:
- By You: You may delete your account at any time through account settings
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, illegal activity, or abuse
- Immediate Termination: We may terminate accounts immediately for serious violations without notice
- Data Deletion: Upon termination, your account data will be deleted according to our data retention policy
- Backup Period: You may have a limited time to export your data before permanent deletion
- Outstanding Payments: Termination does not relieve you of obligations for outstanding payments
Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use PiMail immediately ceases, and you lose access to your account and data.
11. Intellectual Property
Ownership and rights:
- PiMail Service: All rights, title, and interest in PiMail belong to us or our licensors
- Your Content: You retain ownership of your email content and grant us a license to use it to provide the service
- Pi Network: Pi Network trademarks, logos, and intellectual property belong to Pi Network
- No Copying: You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of PiMail without permission
- Feedback: Any feedback you provide may be used by us without compensation
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes will be resolved as follows:
- Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where PiMail operates, without regard to conflict of law principles
- Informal Resolution: Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@pimail.network to attempt to resolve the dispute informally
- Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules
- Individual Disputes: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration
- Exceptions: Either party may bring claims in small claims court or seek injunctive relief in courts of competent jurisdiction
- Time Limit: You must file any claim within one year of the event giving rise to the claim
Arbitration Process: Arbitration will be conducted by a neutral arbitrator in accordance with applicable rules. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:
- Posting the updated terms on this page
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending email notifications for significant changes (if you have provided an email address)
- Displaying in-app notifications for critical changes
Your continued use of PiMail after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the service and delete your account.
