Safety Policy

How Mail for Pi approaches trust, reporting, and enforcement during private beta.

This policy is provided in English only (official version).

1. Our approach

Mail for Pi is built for trusted communication within the Pi Network community. We want people to message each other with confidence. That means clear rules, a way to report problems, and responsible action when something serious is brought to our attention.

We do not scan every message automatically. We investigate reports, safety signals, and situations where we are legally required to act.

2. Private beta limitations

During the private beta, Mail for Pi is intentionally text-first:

  • New file attachments are disabled while we focus on safe, trusted messaging.
  • Messages you already received with attachments may still be viewable if they were delivered before this policy took effect.
  • Features may change as the beta evolves. We will update this page when material safety or product changes occur.

3. Prohibited content

You may not use Mail for Pi to send, store, or share:

  • Illegal content or activity
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual exploitation of minors
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery (including so-called "revenge porn")
  • Terrorism-related content or material that promotes violence or harm
  • Fraud, scams, phishing, or impersonation intended to deceive others
  • Malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Spam or bulk unsolicited messages
  • Harassment, threats, or content intended to intimidate or harm others

See also our Terms of Service for the full acceptable use policy.

4. How to report abuse

You can report a problem in several ways:

  • In the app: open the conversation, use the sender menu, and choose Report (Spam, Scam, Phishing, or Abuse).
  • Abuse email: abuse@mailforpi.com for serious safety concerns, illegal content, or urgent reports.
  • Support: support@mypimail.network or in-app Help & support for account issues, bugs, and general questions.

For immediate danger to a person, contact local emergency services first. Then report to us so we can take appropriate action on the platform.

5. What happens after a report

When we receive a report, we may:

  • Review the reported conversation and related account information
  • Move affected messages to spam or safety folders for the reporting user
  • Apply sender blocks or trust policies where appropriate
  • Escalate serious cases for further review
  • Preserve relevant records when required by law or for investigation

We aim to review abuse reports as promptly as practicable. Response times may vary based on severity and volume. We may not be able to share detailed outcomes with reporters for privacy and safety reasons.

6. Possible enforcement actions

Depending on the situation, Mail for Pi may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Remove or restrict access to specific content
  • Suspend or terminate a user account
  • Suspend developer access or a registered application
  • Block a sender from reaching you
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement or relevant authorities

Serious violations — especially involving children, violence, or illegal exploitation — may result in immediate action without prior notice.

7. Cooperation with legal authorities

We cooperate with lawful requests from courts, law enforcement, and regulators when required by applicable law. Where legally permitted, we may preserve evidence related to serious safety reports or illegal activity. We do not provide a backdoor for routine surveillance; we respond when the law and the safety of our users require it.

Law enforcement and legal inquiries may also be directed to abuse@mailforpi.com or legal@mypimail.network.
